  • Time Limit None

Instructions

Steps to follow:

  1. Write the type of equation.
  2. Identify all the ions involved on both side of the products and reactants.
  3. Balance the following equations
  4. Write the number of ions for the products and reactants.

Example:

Zn3(PO4)2  +  NaCl --->  Na3PO4  +  ZnCl2

Step 1.  Double Displacement

Step  2.

  • Reactants:      Zn+2, PO4-3, Na+1,  Cl -1
  • Products:      Zn +2,  PO4-3, Na+1, Cl-1

Step 3.       1Zn3(PO4)2  + 6NaCl --->  2Na3PO4  +  3ZnCl2

Remember, You are multiplying the yellow number times the blue number.

Step 4.

  • Reactants:      Zn+2 = 3, PO4-3 = 2, Na+1 = 6,  Cl -1 = 6
  • Products:      Zn +2 = 3,  PO4-3 = 2, Na+1 = 6, Cl-1 = 6
