PURE SUBSTANCES vs. MIXTURES

There are 8 jars containing matter at the front of the room.  Each jar contains a pure substance or mixture, and each of those can be categorized further, as an element, homogeneous mixture, compound, or heterogeneous mixture.   Observe carefully, decide which type of matter each of these jars holds, and answer questions about those substances.  Do not touch or open the jars. Do not touch or open the envelopes in front of them. At the end of the lab period Cadets will get an opportunity to vote on which category and type of pure substance or mixture they think each jar contains.
