WHAT GRAPH OR CHART DO I USE?
Last time we learned about the cartesian coordinate system. It can show you the location of a data point in four different quadrants. Math uses all four quadrants. Most of the time when we are graphing in science we use Qudrant 1 for graphing items, categories or things, that we can count...which means we can represent them with a positive number. Both the X and Y coordinates in quandrant 1 are positive. For instance numbers of cars sold versus brands of cars sold. We can count the categories of cars sold- 3 categories. We can count the types of cars sold.
The words graph and chart are used interchangeably. Depending on your data, you may use a different type to graph or chart. Watch this quick video to understand the types of charts and when you use them.
